# Sentient Computing takes its revenue forecasting to the next level with OpsAdvisor.

Sentient used OpsAdvisor’s recommendations to create a more structured and data-driven approach to financial planning. By integrating OpsAdvisor’s suggestions into their workflow, Sentient aligned their sales pipeline management with project forecasting. This led to better accuracy, improved decision-making, and stronger team collaboration. 

### From Traditional Forecasting to AI-Driven Precision

In the past, Sentient Computing’s quarterly revenue forecasting relied on individual estimates created by Value Stream Leaders (VSLs). These estimates used confidence levels to predict future revenue and incorporated an approach to embed each VSLs industry knowledge. Whilst adequate, the approach lacked consistency and a structured framework to assess the reliability of the resultant forecasts.

With OpsAdvisor’s guidance, Sentient changed its approach. They integrated their CRM for sales pipeline tracking and WFM (Workflow Max) for project tracking. The new forecasting process follows a systematic, data-backed structure:

1. **Capturing Real-Time Data** – Using WFM to track purchase orders and the CRM to monitor deal progress.
2. **Ensuring Consistency** – Standardised pipeline stages in the CRM provide a unified approach to sales forecasting across all value streams.
3. **Improving Decision-Making** – By constantly checking revenue forecasts against margin targets (≥20%), teams can quickly accelerate sales chances when needed.
4. **Company-Wide Alignment** – Combining forecasts from all areas of the business gives a complete picture of financial performance, making sure everyone’s on the same page. 

### The Impact: A Smarter, More Sustainable Approach

A key result of incorporating the forecasting processes into existing business processes, backed by the relevant data & systems, is that the process becomes more accurate and sustainable.  Changes captured during routine sales and project activities flow through into the forecasts, generating smarter, more reliable estimates of future revenue.
