OpsAdvisor Release 1.4 - Customised business models

Some of our customers have wanted to expand OpsAdvisor across their business, however needed to be able to reflect the unique aspects of their business to fully embed continuous improvement enabled by OpsAdvisor.

This update introduces customisable operating models so OpsAdvisor more deeply understands what makes your business unique, driving better focus on what areas in the business need the most attention, and how to improve them.

Key Features in This Update:

1. Customisable Operating Models:

• OpsAdvisor has standard industry operating models built in for many different business types, which suit many businesses straight out the box.
• Many businesses have developed their business to take advantage of their unique offering, or as they have scaled up they have parallel products or production flows.
• OpsAdvisor can now fully represent the different value streams within your business, regardless of complexity, and fully understand the implications on different strategic outcomes.

2. Departments and Functions:

• With complex operating models come more complex organisation structures and to declutter the noise and let users focus in on the areas of the business that they are accountable for we have introduced Departments and Functions. 
• A Department can include any number of the different subsystems of the value streams (or systems) in the business, plus any number of functions.
• Functions represent the teams in the business that support the organisation yet are not directly connected to the value streams. Finance, Legal, IT are all examples.
• As Functions grow, they can be considered a Department in their own right, so:
  • A Finance Department may include Accounting, Tax, Treasury, R&D, Payroll and other Functions.
  • An IT department may include PMO, Service Desk, Infrastructure, Applications, DevOps and other Functions.
• OpsAdvisor supports all of these structures and provides continuous improvement advice to each and every Subsystem and Function in the business, providing specific and knowledgeable assessments and improvement recommendations.
